Unifund Understands and Helps a Distressed Economy

In the spirit of holiday giving, Unifund and its employees are proud to look back on 2011’s many contributions to help those in need. Through employee fundraising activities, along with company donations, the group donated over $100,000 dollars to more than 21 different organizations; the community is feeling the impact.

“With many people struggling, these charities need backing from the business community to continue to support them,” says Jason Kaster, Chief Operating Officer. “We strive to make an impact through giving of our time, talent & treasures to organizations like St. Joseph Orphanage, Women Helping Women, and The Shawn O’Rourke Education Fund to help to be able to serve their clients throughout the year.”

Unifund’s core business is purchasing and managing distressed and aged consumer receivables, a key component in the financial services industry and recovery for the economy. This kind of generosity from an organization like Unifund, was borne of it’s own heartbreaks. Unifund’s attendance at the Pink Ribbon lunch and raising money for an education fund for an employee that was killed earlier this year, energized the employees around giving back.

“We believe that the more we can give back, the healthier the community will be for everyone – consumers and businesses alike,” adds Kaster.

Though nationally known, Unifund has been locally owned and operated from Cincinnati since its doors opened in 1986. Integrity and accountability are fundamental to its code of conduct.
