Longtime volunteer and passionate industry leader Mike Bendickson was awarded the Bud Reitzel Lifetime Commitment Award at the 17th DBA International Conference.
As a dedicated mentor and energetic leader, Bud Reitzel brought integrity, innovative thinking and passion to the industry he helped create. Following his passing in 2012, DBA International established an award that honors an individual who shares Reitzel’s commitment to honesty, doing what was right, respecting the consumer and treating everyone fairly.
Like Reitzel, Bendickson has been a strong voice for the industry, speaking at industry conferences nationwide and inspiring others to embrace best practices. Having worked in the accounts receivables industry for more than 20 years, Bendickson started his own firm, Absolute Resolutions Corp, more than a dozen years ago. In addition to operating his business in a way that others aspire to, Bendickson has dedicated himself to helping others recognize debt buying as a valuable contributor to a successful economy. He served two terms as association president during a pivotal time in the industry, pushing for uniform standards for professionalism.
“Mike Bendickson’s visionary leadership and commitment to the industry echo the values that Bud Reitzel lived,” said DBA President Rich Munroe. “Mike’s presidency coincided with the economic downturn, and rather than step away to concentrate on his own business, he stayed on as president and helped DBA transform the industry, establishing best practices that standardize business done right.”
Bendickson is the first recipient of this distinguished award.
