Schaumburg, Illinois – i3 group, LLC, a subsidiary of FMS Investment Corp. (FMS), today announced that Brent Givens has joined the Company as Senior Vice President.
Givens will have full responsibility for all operations and business development of this subsidiary of FMS which was created specifically to provide services to help students avoid delinquency and default of their student loans. Givens’ hiring marks the launch of the Company’s nationwide initiative of customizable, “end-to-end” services to students on behalf of their institutions–from the time they enroll and receive financial aid, until the end of the cohort measurement period.
“For over a year and in a period of dramatic changes in the student loan industry, the i3 group has built a service platform and achieved excellent results. Brent believes in our holistic approach to cohort management and I believe that he will build a significantly successful practice for the Company to serve students and help institutions achieve sustainable results,” said Balaji Rajan, President of i3 and FMS.
Givens will leverage his student loan program knowledge at the school, guarantor, and lender level to enhance i3’s cohort management services, focusing on the Company’s data aggregation solutions and student outreach services.
“I’m very pleased to join this team,” said Givens. “i3 has the foundation and best technology available to manage cohort default rates for postsecondary schools.”
Prior to joining i3, Givens most recently served as Corporate Director of Student Loan Management with Career Education Corporation (CEC), a leading collection of higher education institutions serving over 100,000 students across 90 campuses. Givens was instrumental to controlling CEC’s default rates, co-building a third-party Web based tool to manage their student cohort populations. Before CEC, Givens held a series of escalating management positions during his 16 years with SLM Corp., including Director of Lender Due Diligence, where he led a team of over 200 employees and managed over 500,000 student accounts monthly. While at SLM Corp., Givens was also responsible for business development and service for United Student Aid Funds (USAF) among other national accounts.
