Chicago – The Commercial Law League of America is pleased to announce that it has elected a new Board of Governors.
The CLLA’s new board was chosen during its 80th Annual/Spring Meeting, held in Chicago from April 30-May 2, 2010.
The new 2010-2011 board members are:
President – Gary M. Weiner, Weiner & Lange, Springfield, Mass.
President Elect – Beau Hays, Hays & Potter, Atlanta, Ga.
Recording Secretary – Marc J. Bressler, Edison, N.J.
Attorney Board Member – Ivan Jac Reich, Gray Robinson, Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
Attorney Board Member – Frederic Weinberg, Gordon & Weinberg, Conshohocken, Penn.
Law List Publisher Representative – Warren Pinchuck, Columbia Directory, Inc., Boca Raton, Fla.
Young Members’ Section Representative – David Mendelson, Mendelson Law Firm, Memphis, Tenn.
Creditors’ Rights Section Representative – Mark J. Sheriff, Wiles, Boyle, Burkholder & Bringardner, Co. LPA, Columbus, Ohio
Bankruptcy Section Representative – Deborah K. Ebner, Law Office of Deborah K. Ebner, Chicago, Ill.
The board members assumed office on May 1, 2010.
Weiner, the new board president, received his B.S. from Syracuse University and his J.D. from Suffolk University Law School.
A managing shareholder in Springfield, Mass.-based Weiner & Lange P.C., Weiner has held a number of CLLA positions over the years, including recording secretary, Board of Governors attorney-at-large, 2006-2009; New England Region chair, Young Members’ Section board representative and chair; Executive Council of the Bankruptcy Section member and member of the CLLA’s National Education and National Membership committees.
"I am honored to have been chosen as the board president for the upcoming term," Weiner says. "I look forward to helping the CLLA meet its strategic planning and other goals in the coming year."
Beau Hays, the new president-elect, received his B.A. and J.D. from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He also has held a number of positions in the CLLA, including recording secretary, from 2002-2003; Creditors’ Rights Specialist board representative, from 2008-2010, and chair, from 2007-2008; and strategic planning implementation lead, from 2008-2010.
Hays has also served on several committees, including the National Education and National Membership committees, and was chair of the Office Management and Economics Committee from 1998-1999.
