Concord, Calif. – Compumail Information Services, Inc. (CompuMail) understands that our security risk is your security risk. Year after year, CompuMail has continued investing in new technologies and in our information security program to keep up with new or changing data security requirements as well as new threats and vulnerabilities.

“Most vendors can talk the talk, but at CompuMail, we walk the walk when it comes to the security of your data,” said Carl Grant, CompuMail’s Chief Information Officer. “Since February we have been asking companies to ask us to prove our compliance. Understanding companies may not have the time or expertise to perform a full service provider audit, CompuMail has contracted with the ARM Industry’s leading security company, Tech Lock Inc., to test our security program against multiple regulatory and industry standard requirements.”

CompuMail has entered into Tech Lock Certified™ Program to validate its information security management system against federal requirements such as FISMA, GLBA, HIPAA and the recent HITECH Act; numerous state laws such as Massachusetts 201 CMR 17.00: Standards for the Protection of Personal Information of Residents of the Commonwealth, Nevada Personal Information Law NRS 603a and Senate Bill No.227, and the Minnesota Plastic Card Security Act; and industry standards such as PCI DSS and ISO 27002.

“CompuMail was the first print mail provider to enter the Tech Lock Certified program to take a holistic, unified compliance approach to ensure they were meeting or exceeding client and regulatory requirements,” says Todd Langusch, Tech Lock’s Chief Executive Officer. “Due to costs, many service providers try to minimize the number or types of audits that are performed on an annual basis. In addition, due to budget cuts and a down economy, it has been increasingly difficult for organizations to keep up with new and rapidly evolving regulatory requirements.”

Taking advantage of the cost savings from a holistic audit like Tech Lock Certified, CompuMail was able to reinvest those monies into its information security program, implementing systems from world leaders in data encryption (Vormetric), security information and event monitoring (RSA), managed file transfers (Ipswitch MOVEit), and other key technologies.

CompuMail expects to receive Tech Lock Certified™ during the month of June. “We are confident in our information security management system and the recent investments we have made in it. We will be the first print mail service provider in the ARM Industry to achieve Tech Lock Certified™,” says Sam Andreasen, CompuMail’s President. “CompuMail chose Tech Lock Certified™ due to its comprehensive audit objectives established based off of industry standards like PCI DSS and FISMA that each contain over 200 security controls. As compared to a SAS 70 audit which can be likened to an opinion without a pre-determined set of objectives or activities that the service organization must achieve, Tech Lock Certified is a true validation of security and compliance.”
