Executive Bio: Jon Shaver

Dr. Jon Shaver is the Chairman of Board of Directors of Performant and President of VFI. Dr. Shaver is involved in corporate affairs, including a leadership role in the company’s government engagement, mergers and acquisition strategy, and legal counsel. Dr. Shaver possesses great depth in the education and government markets, and has actively participated in milestone initiatives both prior to joining Performant, and during Performant’s strategic efforts. Dr. Shaver brings extensive leadership experience in both large student loan guarantors, student aid commissions, and legislative affairs.

Dr. Shaver previously served as President and CEO of EdFund where he helped to shape the infrastructure of educational support in California, and spearheaded key legislation directed at improving its educational platforms. He has also served as Executive Director and CEO for the California Student Aid Commission, and held several executive leadership roles within California State University.

Dr. Shaver received his Ed.D. in organization and administrative studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. He also holds an MBA in marketing from Pepperdine University, an MS in higher education administration, and a BA in history from SUNY at Brockport.
