Executive Changes: Zenta Announces Additional Client Management Executives

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — ZENTA is pleased to announce the addition of four new executives to their US client management team. Joining the team are Pete Baynard, Cindy Smaney, Ron Paulin, and Gary Eakin, all twenty year plus veterans of the mortgage business, who will add immediate value as part of the executive operations delivery team at Zenta. In addition, the new hires will be making a nationwide push to educate others on the realities of mortgage outsourcing in today’s market.

This investment will ensure that our recently formed partnerships will realize the same level of executive sponsorship and support that our existing partners have benefited from for years.” said Henry Santos, Senior Vice President of Zenta’s residential mortgage services practice.

The groups’ restructuring includes a move to focus existing team members on the operation and client management of specific service offerings. Mike Schlaff, previously Senior Vice President of Operations for Universal Master Servicing, LLC, a JV between Zenta and Wachovia Bank, has been assigned to the client management team as a Vice President and Director. Schlaff’s focus will be on Residential Mortgage Loan Services including loan fulfillment and servicing solutions. Don Pettingill, a two year veteran of the firm, will focus his 15 year background in the mortgage default industry on Zenta’s distressed mortgage asset services. Pettingill’s focus as Vice President of Default Services will be on the development and delivery of industry leading mortgage retention and liquidation services.

Pete Baynard comes to Zenta via a career focused on national sales leadership for retail, wholesale and correspondent production plus insurance products with Fortune 500 companies. Most recently Baynard was Senior Vice President of National Accounts at AIG United Guaranty and previously held the position of Executive Vice President of mortgage production for Toll Brothers Luxury Home Builders. Pete’s primary focus at Zenta will be on national loan fulfillment, acquisition and servicing relationships.

Cindy Smaney comes to Zenta most recently from Saxon Mortgage where she was the Vice President in charge of all loan modification production. Prior to that she was a Senior Vice President at Citi Mortgage, where she led a variety of production and fulfillment programs. Cindy’s focus at Zenta will be on driving operational excellence in their loan fulfillment programs.

Ron Paulin has focused his career primarily in the underwriting and contract underwriting domain. Prior to Zenta, Ron was a Vice President in the contract underwriting group for a national mortgage insurer, and prior to that he managed production underwriting for a top 5 lender. Ron’s focus at Zenta will be on serving the middle tier lender and the mortgage service provider markets.

Gary Eakin brings 14 years of mortgage operations and sales experience to Zenta’s Business Development Team. A majority of his career was focused on leading efforts at mortgage outsourcer, PHH. Most recently, Gary managed client relationships for five of PHH’s top private label financial institution and wealth management clients.
