I.C. System, Inc., an accounts receivables management company based in St. Paul, Minn., recently held a Holiday Food Drive at its home office.  The annual drive yielded 2014.5 lbs of food this year, all of which was donated to the White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf.

The food drive was organized by E.C.H.O. (Employee Charitable Help Organization), the charitable organization comprised entirely of I.C. System employees.  Competition played a big part in I.C. System producing the largest amount of food the drive has ever collected.  “We created additional motivation this year by having each floor of our home offices compete for prizes, said Mary Hiles, Associations Manager and E.C.H.O. member.  “The generosity of our employees in this food drive is overwhelming and made a wonderful donation to help families just before the holidays.”

I.C. System also contributed a cash donation to the White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf which will allow the food shelf to purchase a much needed industrial refrigerator.  “We are very excited here at the food shelf,” said Ann Searles, Director, White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf.  “We very much appreciate what I.C. System has done for us.”

Through its donation, I.C. System is helping the over 250 families who turn to the White Bear Area Food Shelf each month for help.  Nearly half of the family members they serve are children, who can be especially hard hit by the effects hunger.  As emergency food shelves face increasing demand for their services, corporate contributions such as the one by I.C. System, give vital support.

“I.C. employees continue to rally behind local community efforts,” said Barbara Erickson, Chairman & CEO, I.C. System.  “This isn’t the first time that our people have raised a large amount of food for the food shelf, but this year’s total was a record for us, and especially gratifying at this time of year and in this economy.  We are pleased to support this worthy cause.”

The White Bear Area Emergency Food Shelf has been providing food to those in need since 1977. These efforts are undertaken in close partnership with their community – with individuals, churches, schools, businesses, neighborhood associations and other community groups.

I.C. System, a privately owned company founded in 1938, provides accounts receivable management services for 20,000 clients within many industries, including healthcare, financial services, retail, utility, and communications.  Headquartered in St. Paul, I.C.
